In 1990-s for the first time zoning by epidemic manifestations of cholera was carried out at the level of subjects forming parts of Russia and other Republics of the Soviet Union with the introduction of differential tactics of epidemiological surveillance. </italic><italic>Improvement of epidemiological surveillance of cholera was aimed at harmonization with the IHR (2005), integration of epidemiological surveillance of cholera and social-hygienic monitoring of water objects of I and II categories. Characterization of isolated Vibrio cholerae strains (1990−2014) on the genomic basis determined the emergence of new VNTR-genotypes of V. cholerae O1 ctxAB+ tcpA+, responsible for outbreaks, simultaneously with isolation of V. cholerae O1 ctxAB<sup>-</sup>tcpA<sup>-</sup> strains during monitoring of environmental objects for cholera. A</italic><italic> viewpoint is considered of the beginning of the eighth cholera pandemic in the context of emergence of V. cholerae-torstrains with CTX</italic><italic>φ</italic><italic> </italic><italic>prophage carrying ctxB gene of cholera toxin of classical biovar. </italic><italic>Main directions of further enhancement of epidemiological surveillance include the study of basic data structures used in the epidemiological surveillance system, the use of zoning of municipal units of federal subjects with corresponding surveillance tactics and expected economic effect.</italic><italic/></p><p> </p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><italic>Представлены основные этапы становления эпидемиологического надзора за холерой в России. </italic><italic>В 1990-е гг. впервые проведено районирование на уровне субъектов, входящих в состав России и других республик Союза ,по типам эпидемических проявлений холеры с введением дифференцированной тактики эпидемиологического надзора. Совершенствование эпидемиологического надзора</italic><italic> за холерой было направлено на гармонизацию с Международными медико-санитарными правилами</italic><italic> (2005), интеграцию с </italic><italic>социально-гигиеническим мониторингом водных объектов </italic><italic>I</italic><italic> и </italic><italic>II</italic><italic> категорий. </italic><italic>При характеристике выделенных из объектов окружающей среды холерных вибрионов (1990−2014 гг.) </italic><italic>Vibrio</italic><italic> </italic><italic>cholerae</italic><italic> О1</italic><italic>ctxAB</italic><italic><sup>-</sup></italic><italic>tcpA</italic><italic><sup>-</sup></italic><italic>на геномной основе установлено появление новых VNTR</italic><italic>-</italic><italic>генотипов </italic><italic>V</italic><italic>. </italic><italic>cholerae</italic><italic> О1 </italic><italic>ctxAB</italic><italic><sup>+</sup></italic><italic>tcpA</italic><italic><sup>+</sup></italic><italic>, ответственных за вспышки высокоопасной инфекции. </italic><italic>Высказана точка зрения о начале восьмой пандемии холеры, обусловленной </italic><italic>V</italic><italic>. </italic><italic>cholerae</italic><italic> </italic><italic>О1 биовара </italic><italic>el</italic><italic>-</italic><italic>tor</italic><italic> с наличием в профаге </italic><italic>CTX</italic><italic>φ</italic><italic> гена </italic><italic>ctxB</italic><italic> холерного токсина классического биовара. </italic><italic>Основными направлениями совершенствования эпидемиологического надзора на современном этапе являются исследование структур основных данных, используемых для определения эпидпотенциала территорий; </italic><italic>переход на районирование входящих в субъекты муниципальных образований с дифференцированной тактикой эпидемиологического надзора и ожидаемым экономическим эффектом.</italic><italic/></p><p> </p><p> </p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>cholera</kwd><kwd>pandemic</kwd><kwd>epidemiological surveillance</kwd><kwd>zoning</kwd><kwd>V. cholerae O1 el-tor</kwd><kwd>VNTR-genotyping</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>холера</kwd><kwd>пандемия</kwd><kwd>эпидемиологический надзор</kwd><kwd>районирование</kwd><kwd>V. choleraeО1el-tor</kwd><kwd>VNTR-генотипирование</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group/></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>1.
