Active components of the antioxidant defense system of the body was assessed by the level of reduced and oxidized glutathione by the method of PY Hissin, determination of TBA-active products was carried out by the method VB Gavrilova. </italic><italic>In the analysis of inter-group differences for independent samples was used parametric Student criterion. <bold>Results</bold>: the oxidative stress in obese men was characterized by significant elevation of oxidized form of glutathione (GSSG) in comparison with its reduced form. We discussed our results in the context of GSSG «quantivalence» to numerous of cellular processes in the setting of metabolic disorders in infertile and obese men. </italic><italic>The ratio of reduced glutathione to oxidized infertile men decreased by 1,5 times in patients with obesity and 1,2 times in those with normal body mass index. <bold>Conclusions:</bold> Glutathione is the most important link in the study of oxidative stress in men with infertility. </italic><italic>Raising the level of oxidized glutathione is due to the presence of his additional functions that are implemented at higher values of body mass index, especially in association with infertility.</italic></p><p> </p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><bold><italic>Цель исследования</italic></bold><italic>: изучить состояние глутатионового звена тиолдисульфидной системы у мужчин с бесплодием с различными индексами массы тела на фоне окислительного стресса.</italic> <bold><italic>Пациенты и методы</italic></bold><italic><bold>:</bold> обследовано 60 мужчин с бесплодием с нормальной и избыточной массой тела и 40 практически здоровых мужчин с доказанной фертильностью. Активность компонентов системы антиоксидантной защиты организма оценивалась по уровню восстановленного и окисленного глутатиона по методу </italic><italic>P</italic><italic>.</italic><italic>Y</italic><italic>. </italic><italic>Hissin</italic><italic>, определение содержания ТБК-активных продуктов осуществляли по методу В.Б. Гаврилова. При анализе межгрупповых различий для независимых выборок использовали параметрический критерий Стьюдента.</italic><bold><italic> Результаты</italic></bold><italic>: у мужчин с бесплодием и избыточной массой тела окислительный стресс характеризовался статистически значимым повышением концентрации окисленной формы глутатионa (GSSG) по сравнению с ее восстановленной формой. Полученные результаты обсуждаются в связи с «поливалентностью» GSSG по отношению ко многим клеточным процессам, которая проявляется специфическим образом на фоне серьезной дисрегуляции метаболизма у бесплодных мужчин с высокой массой тела. </italic><italic><bold>Выводы</bold>:</italic><italic> глутатион является важнейшим звеном при изучении окислительного стресса у мужчин с бесплодием.
