In industrial cities, compared with Murmansk, higher death rates of male population of working age from causes which etiologically are connected with harmful factors of manufacture have been registered: from cardiovascular diseases — in 1,1–1,5 times and respiratory diseases — in 1,2–1,6 times. In cities where non-ferrous metallurgy enterprises are located, concerning to cancerogenic, death rates from malignant neoplasms have been raised in 1,2–1,4 times. This happens, in particular, in Monchegorsk where Open Joint-Stock Company «Severonickel Combine» enterprise is located. Mortality from lip, oral cavity and pharynx cancer raised in 1,8 times: the localization specific at influence of nickel.</italic></p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><bold><italic>Цель исследования.</italic></bold><italic> Изучить смертность мужского населения трудоспособного возраста в промышленных городах в зависимости от специфики градообразующих предприятий.</italic><bold><italic> Материалы и методы.</italic></bold><italic> Изучена смертность в трех городах Мурманской обл., где расположены градообразующие предприятия цветной металлургии (г. Мончегорск, г. Кандалакша) и добывающей отрасли (г. Кировск), в столице региона (г. Мурманск) и в стране в целом по усредненным за шесть лет (2000-2005 гг.) стандартизованным по возрасту (прямым методом) коэффициентам смертности. </italic><bold><italic>Результаты исследования.</italic></bold><italic> Сравнительный анализ причин и уровней смертности мужского населения трудоспособного возраста показал, что во всех изучаемых городах Мурманской обл. по сравнению с Россией в целом, повышен уровень смертности от болезней системы кровообращения (в 1,3</italic><italic>–</italic><italic>2,0 раза) и органов дыхания (в 1,1–</italic><italic>1,8 раза). В промышленных городах Мурманской обл. по сравнению с самим Мурманском, зарегистрированы более высокие показатели смертности от причин, этиологически связанных с вредными факторами производства на градообразующих предприятиях: от болезней системы кровообращения — в 1,1–1,5 раза, болезней органов дыхания — в 1,2–1,6 раза.
